United Water Corporation has signed a concession agreement with the government of Tuoketuo County, Inner Mongolia, to acquire and upgrade all the assets of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in the Tuoketuo Industrial Park. United Water will invest over RMB60 million in upgrading the facilities to treat the wastewater, mainly discharged by the pharmaceutical plants in the park, to national standards.
After having visited a number of specialist water companies, and having organized several famous specialists in the industrial wastewater treatment field to conduct a thorough and rigorous review of the technical proposal submitted by United Water, the County government and the Industrial Park Management Committee have chosen United Water as the exclusive investor and operator for the said WWTP Project with the award of a 30-year concession right.
The Tuoketuo Industrial Park WWTP Project is United Water’s first water project in northern China. United Water has committed to make the project a model project in treating one of the most challenging wastewater streams in China, marking another milestone in the company’s rapid development.
