United Water Corporation has commenced the expansion of its waste water treatment plant located in the Industrial Park of the Tong Xiang Economic Development Zone. The Expansion project started in early July 2011, and is scheduled to be completed by the end of October 2011 increasing treatment capacity to 60,000 metric tons of water per day.
The second phase expansion uses the CASS biological treatment technology with a design capacity to treat influent water with COD of up to 1000 mg/l and to discharge to China’s class 1B standard.
The Tong Xiang waste water treatment plant is under a BOO contract to provide waste water treatment services to 200 factories in the Tong Xiang Economic Development zone of Zhe Jiang Province. The first phase of 30,000 metric tons a day which was commissioned in early 2008 provides an excellent foundation having regularly received positive appraisals from local and national EPA..
The expansion falls within the 12th 5 year plan for Tong Xiang City to increase the size of the project which following completion will positively contribute to the economic development and a sustained clean water environment in the city of Tong Xiang. |
