6 April 2012, United Water (Suizhou) held a ceremony to mark the commencement of construction of the second phase of the Suizhou Municipal Waste Water treatment plant. The ceremony was attended by Suizhou top officials including Deputy Mayors Mr. Mingfang Peng and Mr. Wang Zhi Yong, Deputy Director of Suizhou Municipal People's Congress Mr. Wen Jun, and Vice Chairman of Suizhou CPPCC Mr. Min Wen Qiang.
United Water owns 65% equity in the Suizhou Waste Water Treatment Plant which was commissioned in April 2009. Total treatment capacity of the plant will increase to 100,000 metric tons per day when the second phase is complete by April 2013.
